English Ron Paul seeks to reform UK banking system

Steve Baker MP lays out his plans, in the House of Commons, to reform the UK banking system. I’m not keen on his plan to create yet another ultimately useless regulator (the financial crimes investigation unit), which will get captured, as they all do, but the intellectual thrust is good, even if only in an educational sense (assuming his proposals fail to become law).

Obviously, as a good Hoppeian, I have very little faith that the political system can be reformed from within the political system, but as with Ron Paul, using the political system as a vehicle of Austrian education about Reality Economics is always welcome.
